A bit about Pete Crawford:
I am a freelance education consultant and have been happily working from a shed in
my garden since 2001 so, when I decided to try my hand at apps, it was no surprise
that a shed would have a starring role - and that’s why the shedlings were born.
Maths was a natural choice of focus given my background (see below) so the apps
that I have made are all aimed at helping children literally play with mathematics.
I hope that they will give kids a bit of fun while helping them practise a few important
math skills and develop their confidence and ease with number and shape.
A bit about my background:

I taught for 15 years and then spent 10 years in the primary mathematics advisory
team in Hertfordshire.
•
Since setting up as a freelance education consultant in 1999, I have worked with
many leading publishers including Dorling Kindersley, Cambridge University Press,
Oxford University Press, Harcourt, Heinemann, Egmont and Pearson, both on
written material and on interactive material.
•
I have been a mathematics consultant for Open Mind's award winning Numberjacks
television and radio programmes (BBC, CBeebies) and continue to work closely with
Open Mind on the Numberjacks: Mission to Learn website.
